hello The large "C" wraps around the smaller "k", which extrudes the "C". It is meant to be simple yet aggressive.
If you take a look at the sketches below, you will see an array of different logo concepts. Most of the concepts relate to sea life. The entire second row of logos are supposed to be jelly's.
The third row of concepts includes my middle initial... J. Adding my middle initial was supposed to help indicate a shark... I thought it looked like garbage, so back to the drawing board.
I created that bracket shaped thing that looks like a marshmallow roaster. I felt like I was getting somewhere but it was too oblong. So I started playing with simple shapes and landed on a circle. The circle made out of little circles is supposed to represent a "4OCEAN" bracelet (trying to stay in the realm of protecting sea life).
Finally I moved away from the sea life idea completely. I decided to draw a silhouette of myself and landed on the one with the circle around my head.
I kept coming back to the marshmallow poker though... so I decided I liked the circle and the marshmallow poker so I drew the 'C' and 'c' and put a line through it, and it then looked like a 'K'... "looks good to me." I use both the red CK (which is my actual logo), and the silhouette of my head for my branding.
